Steel and copper
Gilda's Club, Dallas
In loving memory of Anne Albritton.
14” w x 13’ h
The varied shapes and sizes of the hand-cut leaves in this sculpture offer a glimpse of the many sides of Larry's close friend Anne, who died of cancer in 2006. The hand-painted steel frame represents strength and each of the 66 individually mounted leaves mark a year of Anne's life. Anne's longtime partner, Trigger Butler, attached the 66th leaf to complete the piece. Hope is over 13 feet tall and weighs 68 pounds.
